|HeidelbergCement Introduces Web and SMS Ordering System|
|HeidelbergCement has stepped into a new arena by introducing Web & SMS enabled services for their customers, first of its kind in Bangladesh cement industry. Mr. Jean- Claude Jamar, Managing Director of the company inaugurated the system through a press conference at the Sheraton hotel yesterday.|
In his speech Mr. Jamar told that commitment to innovation is one of the missions of HeidelbergCement Group, as the Group believes future success depends on new technologies and introduction of WEB and SMS enabled services is another example of successful endeavor. Through this e-commerce and m-commerce services, our valued customers can order for ScanCement/ RubyCement 24 hours through Internet and mobile phone (SMS). These services will also enable our customers to get online real time information and sharing the same resources that will ultimately enhance efficiency and reduce non-value added tasks.
Mr. Jean-Claude Jamar continued by saying that” the project started off end of 2005, and before we could share real time information with our customers, we had to put our house in order. This could only be done by first redefining all our internal processes, simplifying them and use the appropriate IT tools to support them. Our B2B approach is unique in Bangladesh Cement industry. It is creating great added value for our customers and a clear competitive advantage to our Company.”
Indocement, one of the group companies of HeidelbergCement Group, and HeidelbergCement Bangladesh Limited, jointly developed this system. Mr. Danny Yeh, MIS Division Manager, Indocement, Indonesia and Mr. Ramakanta Bhattacharjee, Director, Marketing, Sales & IT, HeidelbergCement Bangladesh Limited were also present in the press conference. The press conference ended with presentation and live demo.
