3rd Karnafuli Bridge

At last the government has undertaken the step to construct the third bridge over the river Karnaphuli at Patia-Baddarhat point to connect the southern part of Chittagong with the rest of the country. Major Bridge Engineering Company won the tender for constructing the bridge and RubyCement will be exclusively used for the construction. Approximately 14 thousand metric tones of cement will be used for the construction work.
The completion of the 920-metre-long third bridge across the river Karnaphuli is estimated to take 38 months from the acceptance of the final tender.
This is a very long desired bridge and after completion this bridge will facilitate the export business and will boost up the tourism business of the country as well. |
